How does Fedex Tution Reimbursement work?
I know that some companies you must work for them for several years after they approve of your tution reimbursement. Does FedEx have the same guidelines...do you have to work for them for sometime after they give you tution reimbursement? Is there any regualtions I need to know about before I send in my papers for tution reimbursemnt. i work at FedEx in Newark, NJ airport! If anyone has any details about this please post. Thank You.

I'd call and ask Human Resources directly before you even send your paperwork in to them. Since you work for Fed Ex, this is the easiest and best way to ensure you are getting the correct information

There are going to be at least fifty people coming to this party which is just 3 weeks away. I dont live in Newark but I work there and I dont know where a good place to have a party is. Obviously alcohol is a must.

It depends. Do you enjoy city life or do you enjoy having a house? Is it important to live really close to where you work, or does the tought of a long commute not bother you? Jersey City and Hoboken are two locations I'd recommend for people who prefer a more urban lifestyle. I wouldn't really recommend living in Newark itself, unless it was in the Ironbound section. If you prefer a more suburban lifestyle, go west along route 78, and you can find several towns that are quite nice. I wouldn't go any farther west than the intersection of 78 and 287, though, because, honestly, the traffic can be heinous going east in the morning!!

Working in Newark, NJ. Where to live?
I will be starting work in Newark, NJ and would like any suggestions about where to live. I am looking to buy, not rent. I do not want to live in Newark, but I would like a reasonable commute, ie. 30-40minutes. I have heard about montclair, west orange, and south orange but they are expensive. I would like to live in a safe neighborhood, relatively quiet. I don't have kids, so schools are not important. If anyone has suggestions or can suugest a good, reliable, consciencious realtor it would be so much appreciated.

I worked in Newark for a number of years. I got my first house in Springfield because it was close to Rt. 78. It was about a 30 minute commute. Any community in Essex county is expensive and property taxes are high (towns that you mentioned). Stick with Union County towns. Other towns would be Summit, Berkeley Heights and New Providence. These are close to the train station that goes into Newark Penn Station.

there is no such thing as a quiet neighborhood in this part of new jersey. however, e. rutherford is ok, as is saddle brook and elmwood park. keep in mind that everything within a reasonable commute of newark is also close to ny, and is going to be astronomically expensive.

I would stick with Union County. Some areas of Essex County are fine, but the safest areas tend to be very expensive. There certainly are quiet neighborhoods in this part of the state. In Union County, I'd suggest Garwood, Westfield, Springfield, Clark, Fanwood, Scotch Plains or Cranford (my favorite). There are not-so-great areas in some of these towns, but you'll generally know them when you see them. Avoid Hillside, Elizabeth, Roselle, and Vauxhall. Parts of Union Township are very nice, particularly the Putnam Manor area of Union (many houses up for sale there right now; I'm not really sure why, could be because the school system is going downhill but that's not an issue for you). Most of these places are about a 30-minute commute from Newark, depending how deep into Newark your workplace is. Good luck!

The best area's surrounding newark, but without living there would have to be Kearny, Belleville and N. Arlington. I know because I live in Kearny. The neighborhoods are extremely family friendly and quite. It is like living in a small town but still close to Jersey City, Newark and NYC. What airlines can I work for as a flight attendant in NYC/Newark?
I want to be a flight attendant, but I have to stay close to NYC. My family can't move because of my husband's job. The airline would have to have a hub in or around NYC. We can't move because of my husband's job.

There are many airlines especially at JFK airport, but Continental airlines has one of it's main hubs at Newark Liberty airport, so I'd say thats a place to start.

Continental has a hub there and has the most flights out of Newark. JetBlue is headquartered out of JFK. American and Delta have huge hubs out of JFK so they operate a lot of flights as well. US Airways has a lot of flights out of LaGuardia. Unfortunately most of the airlines are struggling now and may not be hiring.
